A Winter Style Refresh
To provide some style motivation to carry you into the spring, we’ve compiled some of our favorite ways to bundle up in a non-boring way.
Black boots, wool sweaters, and scarves wrapped tightly. There’s comfort in a classic cold weather wardrobe, but at the same time, it can get stale very quickly. Now that we’re in the thick of winter, we're ready to shake things up a little with pieces that feel more special. A little color goes a long way, and we’re here to prove it.
To provide some style motivation to carry you into the spring, we’ve compiled some of our favorite ways to bundle up in a non-boring way. These are a few of our favorite ways to brighten up a winter wardrobe.
Embrace Long Skirts
While mini skirts and tights are winter style staples, we prefer to mix up the mundane by wearing maxi skirts instead. The extra length feels glamorous and fun, while providing coverage from the icy wind. If needed, you can still wear tights underneath your maxi skirt as long as they don’t show. To get the look, pair our Samay Pleated Skirt in the Ortencia Flowers Print with a black turtleneck and faux leather jacket. Wear with your favorite boots or heels and you’ll liven up any room you walk into!
Layer Up
Layering is the key to regulating your temperature no matter where you're going. Not only does it give you options for both indoor and outdoor wear, but it provides an opportunity to express yourself with unique silhouettes and textures. While layering can be as simple as wearing a blouse, cardigan, and overcoat, we like to have fun with outerwear like our Eve Reversible Vest. It’s the perfect piece to warm your core while adding a dose of style. The fact that a vest doesn’t have sleeves means that you can wear it year-round with or without other layering pieces.
Dopamine Dressing
We believe in dopamine dressing – dressing to make yourself feel great. In the winter, it’s more important than ever to wear clothes that bring out the best version of yourself to keep your spirits bright despite the dreary weather. Just because everyone else is dressed in neutrals, doesn't mean you need to hold back on showing your true colors. Color psychology is powerful and so are you – so pull out your brightest pinks, oranges, and blues and bring vibrancy to your day. Read more about dopamine dressing here.
Pattern Play
In addition to color, patterns can be a great way to add some fun and creativity to your winter wardrobe. While you can mix and match patterns, the easiest way to style them in the winter is to wear a solid colored top with patterned bottoms, or vice versa. Polka dots, stripes, florals, and geometric prints are all fair game. Just think of them as your personal protest against the blandness of winter. You can even wear a coordinating wintry set like our Clarita Pant and Clarita Reversible Jacket.
Reverse It
Two looks in one – what could be better? Reversible pieces are a dream come true because they give you more options to mix and match with pieces in your existing closet. Our Clarita Reversible Jacket and Eve Reversible Vest both feature a printed side and a solid side, giving you the freedom to choose your style adventure.
There are so many simple swaps that can make your winter wardrobe feel more like you. Start small with a few colorful pieces and experiment to create new combinations that go beyond the ordinary. Don't be afraid to try something out of your comfort zone - it might be the perfect way to illuminate an otherwise dull winter day.
